Dale Stewart

About the Book:

There is a new doctor in town. Since the passing of Dr. Seuss, the world of children’s literature has been looking for a replacement. Dr. Dale Stewart (yes, he is a real medical doctor) steps forward to fill the gap. With his imaginative use of the English language and a scientific knowledge of the animal kingdom, Dr. Stewart tells a story and at the same time teaches the young reader some vocabulary and some zoology. Dr. Stewart guarantees that after your eight-year-old reads this book, he will be wanting to absquatulate over, and over again.

About the Author:

Dr. Stewart was born and raised in Huntington Park, California (a suburb of Los Angeles). While in high school he received a four-year academic scholarship from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from John’s Hopkins, he entered medical school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. After interning at Riverside County Hospital in Arlington, California, he entered the United States Public Health Service as a Senior Assistant Surgeon, spending two years assigned to different Indian Health Hospitals in the Southwest. After this came fifty years in the practice of medicine in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. He has worked in family practice, urgent-care facilities, and emergency rooms. Besides medicine, Dr. Stewart’s other passion is magic. He is a member of local, national, and international magic organizations. He has performed at small private parties, schools, libraries, fraternal organizations, and has even done a large stage show at Disneyland Hotel! Today, Dr. Stewart is retired from medicine. He spends his time traveling (he and his wife love cruises) doing magic at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and writing children’s books.
